I'm having problems with the display.

Last Updated: Oct 31, 2013 04:56PM GMT

Question

I've started the software and the viewer window appears black and / or scrambled. What can I do?

Solution

If the image displayed by your LimitState software appears scrambled this can normally be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration.

Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced, then click the Troubleshoot tab.
  3. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.
  4. Click OK, and then click OK. This should be done for all monitors being used (if more than one).
  5. Restart the software.

Windows 7

  1. Choose Start > Control Panel.
  2. Double click Personalization and select Display Settings.
  3. Click Advanced Settings.
  4. Click Change Settings on the Troubleshooting tab.
  5. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.
  6. Click Apply and then click OK to accept the new setting and close the dialog box.
  7. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.
  8. Restart Windows.

Notes

Some graphics cards manufacturers provide their own software, which may prevent the user from accessing the hardware acceleration functionality described above (e.g. ATI Catalyst Control Center). If your system is configured in this way, please instead try clicking Ignore on graphics related warning messages shown by the software.
